Doctors
There are currently six GP's at Inverbervie Medical Practice who all provide general medical care. In addition many of the doctors have areas of specialist interest which extend the services available to the population further. |
Dr Claire Mackenzie
BSc (Hons), MB ChB, DRCOG, MRCGP, DFFP, LFHom Graduated from Aberdeen University in 1997 and joined the practice in 2001. Special interests include Homeopathy, Asthma, Women's Health and Family Planning. |
Dr Gillian MacLeod
BA (Hons), MB ChB, MRCGP Graduated from Aberdeen University in 2006 and joined the practice in October 2016. Special interests include Dermatology (skin) and Medicine for the Elderly. |
Dr Michaela Bentley
MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP Dr Bentley works with us on a part-time basis two days per week. She graduated from Aberdeen University in 1991 and came to work at the practice in 1999. Special interests include Child Health Screening, Women's Health and Family Planning including the fitting of Implanons and IUS (coils). She also administers intra-articular injections to the knee and shoulder. |
Dr Ainslie Patterson
Dr. Patterson was originally a Locum GP but is now employed with the practice. She works part-time and works on a Monday and a Wednesday. |
Dr Claire Webster
Dr. Webster was originally a GPST3 but is now employed with the practice. She works part-time and works on a Monday, Thursday and Friday. |
Dr Jon Blake
Dr. Blake is an experienced GP who joined us in January 2023. He works part-time and works a half day Tuesday and all day Friday. |
Teaching & TrainingStudent Teaching We are a teaching practice and you may be asked if you agree to a medical student or a physician's associate student being involved in your contact with the practice. The time spent in general practice is invaluable in their training and though we hope you will agree to these requests, if you decline, it will not affect your care in any way. Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Debbie joined the practice in January 2020. At the present time her role is seeing patients on a Face-2-Face basis in the surgery or dealing with eConsult queries and also carrying out telephone consultations. Debbie is an experienced practitioner, however, she does not deal with gynaecological or mental health issues. |

Healthcare Assistants support Practice Nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or ANP/GP requests one. |

Practice Manager (Full-Time) The Practice Manager is involved in the day-to-day non-clinical aspects of running the practice and manages all administration and nursing staff. This involves finance, health & safety and personnel. She is always happy to receive any suggestions you may have on improving our service. Part-time. The Receptionists are the first point of contact for the practice and deal with queries both face-to-face and by telephone. The Receptionists are a vital part of the day-to-day running of the practice and are the liaison between patient and GP. **PLEASE NOTE ALL COMMUNITY SERVICES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY RECENT PANDEMIC** The Community Nursing Team provide skilled nursing care to mainly housebound patients and care home residents with complicated or long-term medical conditions. Working alongside our GP's, Social Work Care Managers, Home Care Supervisors, Marie Curie Nursing Staff, McMillan Nurses, Allied Healthcare professionals and voluntary agencies, all care for patients requiring any input , will have their care provision co-ordinated by the Community Nursing Team, following assessment. All the qualified nurses in Inverbervie team are registered mentors for Robert Gordon University student nurses. Through a structured community placement of up to 12 weeks, all students gain knowledge, insight and valuable experience working alongside all of the team members. Education standards are closely monitored and teaching of students, new staff, families and carers is a high priority. Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. |
